Kosher Salt. Why?

Do you know why HS Creations’ ONLY use Kosher Salt in our Blends?
Kosher salt is valued in cooking for its coarse, flaky texture, making it easy to handle, season precisely, and create meat crusts since it dissolves slowly and doesn’t clump. The name “kosher salt” comes from its traditional use in koshering meat according to Jewish dietary laws, where its large crystals efficiently draw out blood and are easily rinsed away.
Unlike table salt, kosher salt typically lacks additives like iodine and anti-caking agents. Although popular with chefs for its control and clean flavor, kosher salt isn’t inherently kosher unless certified; the term refers to its role in koshering meat, not its religious status.
Pro tip – if you don’t live in an area where Kosher Salt is readily available, I would advise against randomly calling your local synagogue to ask where you can get some. It’s kinda like calling the Belgian embassy to find out where the waffles are at. Try ordering online instead.
Now you know!
